International Students
Our laboratory welcomes applications from international students for both the Master's and Doctoral programs.
Our research focuses on the development of novel gas lasers and laser processing technologies. Some research projects are conducted in collaboration with industry partners, providing opportunities to work on research with practical applications. For more details about our research activities, please visit our laboratory website.

Several scholarship programs funded by the Japanese government and the University of Yamanashi are available for international students. Please note that these scholarships are awarded through a competitive selection process. One of our doctoral international students has received a fully funded scholarship.

Research Supervision
Research supervision is provided in English.
We hold regular research meetings to discuss research progress and future plans. Students are also encouraged and supported to present their research at domestic and international conferences and to publish their work in academic journals.
🌍
Student Achievements
Our laboratory typically consists of 2–4 Japanese graduate students and 1–2 international students each year. All graduate students present their research at domestic and/or international conferences. In recent years, several students have received presentation awards for their research achievements, including international students. Students also publish their research in academic journals depending on their research projects.
| Only achievements by graduate students as first authors are listed. |
🏆
Experience in Supervising International Students
Our laboratory has supervised two Master's students and one Doctoral student from overseas. All three graduates are now employed by companies in Japan.
Since 2025, we have also accepted students through a Double Degree (DD) Program with our partner university in China.
The current DD students do not speak Japanese. Nevertheless, they are successfully studying and conducting research in Japan using English. They have presented their research at both domestic and international conferences and are actively submitting papers to academic journals.
